Sensex wipes out 4-session losing streak, up 64 pts
Led by petro-chem giant, RIL (Reliance India Limited), some of the top heavyweights rallied at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today (Jun 24, 2004) due to hectic short covering by operators as well as foreign funds and wiped out four-session losing streak. The Sensex recovered by 64.55 points to close at 4708.55.

CCEA clears OVL's oil pipeline project in Sudan
ONGC Videsh Ltd (OVL), the overseas arm of State-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp, today (Jun 24, 2004) got clearance for investing $ 200 million in laying an oil pipeline in Sudan, an expenditure for which energy-deficit India will be paid back in crude oil.

Reliance Ind Ltd acquires European polyester firm
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has acquired Trevira, an European polyester firm and struck gas off the Orissa coast.
