Bangalore: The Rs one lakh car project of the Tatas is on design mode and would definitely hit the roads, said a top company executive, who envisioned that it's going to be a success story like Indica.

J J Irani, Director of Tata Sons, the holding company of Tata group companies, told reporters in Bangalore that Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata is very keen on the project.

"Like Indica....nobody believed an Indian designed car would hit the roads one day. Not only has Indica gone on stream, it is now the dominant car in its segment," he said.

"So, I am sure (the Rs one lakh) car is coming," Irani added.
