Jet Airways hikes fares in domestic sector Monday, June 14 2004 22:42 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi:
Jet Airways today (June 14, 2004) announced a 10 per cent fare hike with effect from June 21 following 38 per cent increase in the Aviation Turbine Fuel price.
A Jet Airways spokesman said the hike in fares was thrust on it by the increase in ATF price for the past one year.
Tickets issued or reissued on or after June 21 would be at the revised fares irrespective of the date of travel, he said.
Jet Airways is the first domestic carrier to increase the fare.
Confirmed tickets issued on or before June 20 would, however, be honoured for travel at the pre-revised fares only within the validity of the ticket, the spokesman said.
The insurance surcharge, so far levied separately, would now be included in the basic fare so as to simplify the fare structure.
