Akiko Callnet to set up call centres in Kerala Thursday, June 10 2004 14:12 Hrs (IST)

The Delhi-based Akiko Callnet, with a track record of running about 62 training institutes for the BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) industry and call centres across the country, is all set to spread its wings to Kerala.
Training institutes would be set up all over the State, particularly in Kochi, Kottayam, Kannur and Kollam, an Akiko Callnet press release said, quoting Director-Operations, Praney Sharma.
"A two-member team from Akiko is now here to select franchisees for many similar training centres in the State. "Considering that Kerala enjoys the highest literacy in the country, we have decided to open Akiko Callent training institutes all over the State," Sharma said.
Akiko Callnet has emerged as the brand leader in its field within a very short period.
Its exclusive state-of-the-art training tie-up with the well-known US training company, the Montana based 'Train Now', has led to tie ups for placements with international call centres like Convergys, Saffron, V Consumer, Standard Chartered, Ricco, Icon Data Management and domestic call centres like Spanco, Finedge, Mobilink among others.
Sharma said the company had has number of training institutes in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai and the demand was far more than the current supply.
Nasscom has predicted that the call centre industry along with other IT enabled services would have a turnover of Rs 81,000 crore while creating 2 million jobs by 2008, he said.
