Chidambaram meets stock-brokers, SEBI Chairman
Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today (June 2, 2004) kicked off his meetings with financial sector participants beginning with the stock-broking community to apprise them of the reforms process and dispel doubts about the Common Minimum Programme (CMP).

49 per cent cap on FDI in airports' modernisation
Government today (June 2, 2004) decided to put a 49 per cent cap on foreign direct investment in the modernisation of Mumbai and Delhi airports and extended the last date for putting in Expression of Interest to July 20.

Oil prices fall as Saudi Arabia vows to boost output
Red-hot oil prices cooled slightly today (June 2, 2004) after OPEC kingpin Saudi Arabia vowed to boost output to bring down record high prices, though traders remained sceptical of its chances of success.
