Mumbai: The Sensex opened with a wide downward gap of 75 points and dropped sharply below 4600-mark within 10 minutes of the trading on the Stock Exchange (BSE) today (May 31, 2004).

The BSE Benchmark 30-share Index opened sharply lower at 4760.28 as against last Friday's (May 28, 2004) close of 4835.39 and later crashed to a low of 4665.21 at 10.05 hrs (IST), a net fall of 170.18 points.
