PSU (Public Sector Units) stocks were in the limelight on revival of buying prompted by reports that the Government might overshoot the revised target of mopping up Rs 14,500 crore from disinvestment.

Key counters like ONGC, HPCL, Tata Motor, Satyam Comp, RIOL, L&T, BHEL, Bharti Televentures, Grasim, Bajaj Auto, HDFC, Hero Honda and Infosys Tech showed sharp gains.
