Bangalore:
The Netherlands-based ABN AMRO bank would double its headcount for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) operations in India by this yearend to 2,400, country representative Romesh Sobti said today (Feb 26, 2004).
Sobti said the bank in 18 countries has moved their back office operations pertaining to trade processes to India and to 14 countries cash and payment services.
In India, it has three BPO facilities at Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi with a combined space of 1.8 lakh sq ft, he said.
Currently, BPO facilities in India cater to captive back-office processes but at a later stage they might offer third party services, Sobti said.
Meanwhile, the bank today launched its home loan products under the umbrella of "All Smiles Home Loans" for its customers in Bangalore.
As a promotional scheme, the "All Smiles Super Saver Package" was launched with the first year at six per cent per annum interest and the second year fixed rate at 6.5 per cent per annum interest. The prevailing floating rate of interest would be applicable third year onwards, officials said.
