Wipro-Nokia to provide services for handset makers Monday, February 23 2004 18:20 Hrs (IST)
Bangalore:
Wipro Technologies, the global technology services division of Wipro Limited, today (Feb 23, 2004) said it has signed an agreement with Finnish mobile major Nokia to provide smart phone development and integration services for handset manufacturers on 60 series platform.
Wipro will provide smart phone development and integration services for handset manufacturers that have the licensed series 60 platform, the Bangalore-based company said in a statement.
As a series 60 competence centre provider, Wipro will offer software development, backed by its understanding of the requirements for end-to-end series 60 platform software and hardware integration.
"If required, Wipro will be able to manage an entire series 60 platform integration project," it said.
Nokia introduced the series 60 produce creation community a year ago at 3rd GSM world congress in Cannes.
The competence centres in the community are companies that are equipped with proficient and knowledgeable resources and understand requirements for end-to-end software and hardware integration on time and budget, it said.
