Bangkok: A "Made in India Show" to showcase Indian products, technologies and opening vistas of trade between India and Myanmar will be held in Yangon from February 19 to 22.

Indian envoy in Yangon R K Bhatia told reporters that the show, which is being organised jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and the Indian Embassy, will present glimpses of the economically resurgent India.

"A whole range of companies representing various industrial and business sectors will participate in the show," Bhatia said.

Bhatia said the exhibition will showcase India's select products, technologies and services that are relevant to the needs of the Myanmar market and the surrounding region."

The exhibition comes close on the heels of Foreign Ministers from India, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand and Sri Lanka, members of the BIMSTEC (Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka Thailand Economic Cooperation) economic grouping, signing a landmark Framework Agreement on FTA in Phuket, Thailand over the weekend to boost trade among the member countries.

The seminars will be on "Across Borders: India-Myanmar Trade and Economic Cooperation" and the other is on "ICT: Linkages- connecting India and Myanmar."

Bhatia said India and Myanmar have committed themselves to increase trade between the two countries to the one billion Dollar level by 2006.
