US BPO ban won't affect our business, says Wipro
Monday, January 26 2004 10:44 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: IT services major Wipro Technologies said the move by the US Senate against outsourcing of Government contracts to other countries, including India, would not have any impact on its business.

"Our exposure to US Government business is very negligible. So there will not be any impact on our business," Wipro spokesperson said.

In the first Federal law against outsourcing, the US Senate on Jan 22 passed a law barring the doling out of sub-contracts to India and other countries by American companies to cut costs.

The legal measure, originally sponsored by Republican Senator from Ohio George Voinovich and others, was included in a $ 328 billion spending Bill passed by the Senate.
