Outsourcing benefits both US and India: Sinha Saturday, January 24 2004 15:24 Hrs (IST)
Washington:
Outsourcing of jobs from the United States to India benefits both countries, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha has said.
Speaking to a four-member delegation of the US-India Political Committee (USINPAC) during his visit to Washington earlier this week, Sinha agreed that India would work to stop its dependency on a few nations only in this critical area, a release by USINPAC said.
The USINPAC delegation urged India to "aggressively" tap the American market for Defence purchases, the release said.
Congratulating the one-year-old organisation, which aims at strengthening the US-India relations and enhancing the strategic co-operation between the two nations, Sinha said, "You are growing by leaps and bounds and in such a short time. This is truly commendable."
He commended the organisation on its strong leadership role in influencing legislative issues pertaining to Indian- Americans and India.
The USINPAC delegation included Manish Thakur, Vic Chauhan and Krishnan Chettiyar.
