Hinduja TMT has posted a 37 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 22.54 crore for third quarter ending December 31, 2003, compared to Rs 16.51 crore reported in same period previous fiscal.
Total income in the period under review increased to Rs 45.68 crore as against Rs 29.60 crore posted in Q3 of last fiscal, HTMT said in a release today (Jan 20, 2004).
For the nine- month period, the net profit and total income rose to Rs 60.08 crore (Rs 46.53 crore in same period of last year) and Rs 121.69 crore (Rs 82.34 crore) respectively, it said, adding this performance is in line with the guidance given for 2003-2004.
"The revenue growth was due to ramp-up of business from existing customers and acquisition of new clients offering high volume, high value business during the last quarter in the business process outsourcing (BPO) space," it said.
HTMT vice-chairman S Solomon Raj said, "Our disciplined processes and very good routines of information flow have been well appreciated by our clients. The realisation of constant improvement in performance metrics and co-creation of value in partnership with them have enabled us to deliver both short-term results and long-term growth."
The company recently bagged a BPO contract from a large US health benefits entity. Training and pilot project with about 80 transaction processors in three modules have commenced from January 12.
HTMT was also in the process of setting up a high-end call centre employing medical doctors.
