Kolkata: Information Technology major Wipro intends to commence Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) operations at Salt Lake in Kolkata from March 2004, the Chief Financial Officer of Wipro Spectramind, Raj Dutta, said on Tuesday (November 18).

Talking to reporters at the sidelines of Infocom-2003, Dutta said the company had sought more land from the West Bengal Government to expand operations.

Asked if the company would make fresh recruitments, he said that Wipro had been making hiring camps regularly and people from other centres in Pune and Bangalore would be brought here. Wipro intends to invest Rs 50 crore at Salt Lake.
