B2K Corp acquires Talisma's tech outsourcing unit

Bangalore: Technical support services firm B2K Corp Pvt Ltd headed by former Karnataka Information Technology (IT) secretary Vivek Kulkarni today (Nov 7) announced it has acquired the technical outsourcing services unit of Talisma Corporation, including its 120 staff.

The firm focused on providing technical support services, IT services and product development planned to ramp up its headcount to 1,000 in the next two years, company officials said.

"We have raised $ 4.1 million in the first round of venture funding," Kulkarni, who is the chairman and chief executive officer of B2K Corp told reporters.

UTI Ventures and Dhanalakshmi Bank have invested in the venture in addition to Oak Investment Partners, which already had a equity stake in Talisma.

Kulkarni said the company was aiming at a revenue of $ six million in the first year of operations and over $ 15 million in the second year.

He said the technical services market was estimated to be $ 78.4 million and the firm would target the healthcare billing industry in a big way.
