Bangalore: Vijaya Bank on October 8 said that it planned to open representative offices in West Asia
and London among other countries in its effort to cater to international business.
"We are opening a rep office in West Asia, London and other countries," Vijaya Bank Chairman and
Managing Director M S Kapur told reporters in Bangalore.
Kapur announced that its public offering of 10 crore equity shares of Rs 10 each for cash at a premium
of Rs 14 per share aggregating Rs 240 crore would open for subscription on October 9.
The equity issue will remain open for subscription until October 17.
The public offering will increase the bank's equity capital to Rs 433.52 crore from Rs 333.52 crore as on
March 31, 2003. After this issue, the holding of the government of
India would come down to 53.87 per cent from 70.02 per cent, he said.
