Dubai: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) managing director Horst Kohler on September 20 lauded
India's economic performance, describing it as a "good growth performance".
"India has good growth performance. I think the policy is not so bad. But they should care about their
fiscal deficit," Kohler said.
The IMF chief, who is in Dubai to attend World Bank Group and IMF meetings, however, did not
commend on the issue of disinvestment of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Bharat
Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
When asked how India could deploy the burgeoning foreign exchange reserves of about $ 86 billion,
Horst merely said that the Indian economy was doing well.
