Saturday, August 30 2003 22:25 Hrs (IST)

Mangalore: India has the vast human resources talent to achieve success in the field of software and IT industries, Kiran Karnik, president of the National Association of Software Services Companies (NASSCOM), said.

Addressing a press conference, Karnik said that it is not impossible for the country to achieve greatness in the field of IT industry with the available vast human resources.

"Besides self-confidence and other inputs, our country needs to develop our human resources talent through best quality education."

Last year, the country had exported Rs 46,000 crore worth software materials, Karnik said.

Our country became the major world leader in the IT industry, he said, adding that it was the dream of NASSCOM to make India synonymous with IT industry.

The silicon city of India, Bangalore, was now overcrowded with more IT industries, he said, and added that it could be shifted to Mangalore where all infrastructure facilities including road, railways, port and airport facilities are available.
