Bangalore: Infotech majors Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys Technologies and Wipro Technologies have been ranked among the top nine Indian offshore service providers by research and advisory firm Gartner.

Assessed in five evaluation levels across 14 parameters, the Gartner offshore vendor ratings provide concise indicators on each vendor's overall status and the status of such initiatives as strategy, organisation, products, technology, marketing, financials and support, it said in a release on August 7.

Cognizant Technology Solutions, Satyam Computer Services, HCL Technologies, Patni Computer Systems, Covansys Corporation and Syntel are the other IT firms rated by Gartner.

"The rating grid aims to dispel the myth that evaluating vendors on their financial strength and the size of the orders along is sufficient," Gartner India research vice president Partha Iyengar said.
