New Delhi: Cabinet Committee on Disinvestment (CCD) is understood to have cleared transaction
documents for disinvestment of Hindustan Copper (HC) and National Fertilisers Ltd (NFL), and also
approved a proposal for offloading majority stake in Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd (MECL).
According to highly placed government sources, CCD at its meeting on July 10 cleared the transaction
documents for Hindustan Copper and NFL, paving the way for invitation of price bids, and was also
apprised about the successful public issue of car maker Maruti Udyog Ltd.
It was, however, not clear if a proposal relating to sale of residual equity in telecom company Videsh
Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) and IT company CMC came up for discussion at the meeting.
