Toyota Kirloskar may hike prices from July
Saturday, June 21 2003 18:28 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Toyota Kirloskar Motor Ltd (TKML) on June 21 said the company may hike the price of its models in July due to increased input costs of steel, diesel and transportation tariffs.

"We have not finalised on quantum of price hike to be taken next month," Toyota Kirloskar deputy managing director K K Swamy said at the launch of a new variant of diesel version Qualis Royal Saloon.

The company produces Qualis at its Bangalore plant, besides assembling Corolla and Camry luxury cars.

TKML managing director Atsushi Toyoshima said the company was planning to enter the B segment passenger car segment, but added that there was no time frame set.

TKML has sold over 26,000 Qualis during 2002-03 with a total revenue of Rs 1,750 crore. It plans to increase its revenue target to Rs 2,770 crore during 2003-04.
