SENSEX continues upward march during morning
Friday, June 6 2003 10:57 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: The SENSEX continued its upward march as the top heavyweight Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) made a further headway during morning trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on June 6 on fresh purchases by foreign funds.

The BSE sensitive index opened moderately higher at 3,270.06 as against June 5 close of 3,262.20 and later moved upwards to a high at 3,288.74 before being quoted at 3,285.26 at 10.30 am (IST).

Referring to the foreign institutional investors' (FII) activity that is relatively slowed down in the past couple of sessions, brokers said hedge funds and speculators are expected to book profits during the session but the market will withstand any resistance if the flow of foreign investments continued.

RIL, HPCL, BHEL, Infosys Tech, Satyam Computers and Tisco were quoted moderately higher on fresh buying.
