CII gives full marks to Vajpayee govt's 5-yr term
Friday, April 4 2003 14:57 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on April 4 gave full marks to the Atal Behari Vajpayee government for completing five years in office, hailing it as pro-industry and pro-development.

Asked to comment on the performance of the Vajpayee government in the last five years, CII president Ashok Soota said, "We are happy with the government. We are able to have a continuous dialogue."

"Clearly, it's a pro-industry and pro-development government. In areas like disinvestment, we had progress," he said.

Soota also pointed to the recent Budget and Exim policy, both of which, he said, were "progressive" and "forward-looking".
