BSNL's free incoming to continue till revised tariffs
Monday, March 31 2003 18:05 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: In view of the delay in implementation of new tariff order, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on March 31 said its post-paid and pre-paid customers will continue to avail free incoming calls till the revised tariff comes into effect.

"In view of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) deferment of implementation of new tariffs, BSNL has decided to extend the existing landline and cellular tariffs," BSNL said in a statement.

The cellular tariffs would include post-paid plan 325, Plan 225 and pre-paid tariffs.

This means CellOne and Excel customers would continue to enjoy the free incoming calls as announced earlier, and these would continue till a revised tariff is published.

The move follows TRAI decision last week to postpone by a month to May 1, the implementation of the new tariff order as well as the contentious interconnect usage charge (IUC) regime.

TRAI said the rescheduling was done to give adequate time for submission of revised tariff by various companies and also for making subscribers aware of the new rates.
