Tuesday, March 25 2003 19:17 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Air India fares have been hiked by five per cent across the board, Civil Aviation Minister Shahnawaz Hussain said on March 25.

"Air India fares will be increased by five per cent from April 16. Apart from the fare hike, passengers will also have to pay $ 10 coupon as per the decision of the International Air Transport Association (IATA)," Hussain said.

The coupon rate of $ 10 would become effective from April 1, he said.

Indian Airlines and Jet Airways have already raised their respective fare rates by 15 per cent.
