Dubai: India and Iran have an ongoing co-operation in space research, a top official
of the Iranian company, which claimed ties with Indian Space Research Organisation
(ISRO) said.
Iran's ComKar System Communication "already co-operates with ISRO", Kamran
Majdmanesh, its managing director said.
He, however, did not elaborate on the nature of co-operation, according to Iran's
official IRNA news agency.
Majdmanesh, a member of an Iranian delegation on a recent visit to India to attend
the joint business session of Indo-Iran Chambers of Commerce said, "The business
meet opened a good opportunity for both countries to work together.
"The two sides have decided to establish a factory in Iran jointly with Indian
partners to manufacture cabling devices, including telecom and power cables," he
said.
Mohammad Reza Maghsoudi, general manager of another Iranian company Pella Melamin
Kashan, said the "ground is being prepared for signing 30 agreements soon as a part
of co-operation between the two countries".
"The North-South Corridor will forge a new relationship between India, Central Asia
and Iran," he added.
Mohammad Hassan Entezari, an advisor to President Mohammad Khatami and an official
of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, said the "main co-operation
will be with the Ministry of Information Technology of India".
An agreement was inked between India's National Association of Software and Services
Company (NASSCOM) and Iranian Association of Computer Industry (IRICA).
"Iran is a large and growing market in the Information Technology (IT) sector and
Indian companies can show their capabilities there," he said.
