Bangalore: India would soon unveil "Served from India" brand to promote the wide
range of services it offered remotely, president of the Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII) Ashok Soota said on January 21.
Soota indicated here that the umbrella label would be on the lines "Made in Japan"
and "Made in China" that gained prominence globally over the years.
He told delegates of a storage networking summit that India can justifiably claim
the top spot in offering various services remotely. CII would apply for copyright
for the "Served in India" brand, Soota added.
According to him, formal launch of the brand is likely to take place "well before"
he completes his present tenure as CII President on April 30.
Soota said that CII would make the umbrella label for whole range of services from
India, including new applications in biotech and healthcare services, done remotely.
"We will be the first ever country in the world to come out with "served from label
for ourselves", he said. Many countries can come up with "made in" brands but how
many of them can say "served from", Soota asked.
