'20 pc rise in foreign tourist inflow into India'
Saturday, January 18 2003 17:27 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Inflow of foreign tourists into the country has increased by 20 per cent this year, Union Minister of State for Tourism Vinod Khanna has said.

"We hope it will increase further," he said in an informal chat with reporters at the Bangalore airport on January 17 night.

He said integrated tourism circuits were being developed and India was being branded as an "Incredible India" to promote tourism.

On tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, he said, "Things are coming back to normal."

Asked if the break-out of a war in Iraq would affect the tourist inflow, he said, "Yes, it is going to affect everybody."
