Modi asks Gujarati 'Pravasis' to invest in projects
Saturday, January 11 2003 15:31 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on January 11 asked the Gujarati Pravasis to contribute to the "panchamrit yojana" mooted by the state government by investing in infrastructure and other sectors.

"My dream of future Gujarat can be summarised in the panchamrit yojana which we have evolved after deliberating with people and experts in various fields," he told the Pravasi conference.

He said the panchamrit plan consisted of strengthening the five core sectors - education, water, energy, human resources, and safety and security of people.

"For the purpose, the state has already identified infrastructure projects and institutionalised the framework to facilitate private sector investments," he said.

In the field of Information Technology, he said the state government has already operationalised institutional policy framework for promoting IT-enabled services in a big way.

He said a Software Technology Park has been established in Gandhinagar and three "Info-Parks" have been created in Ahmedabad.

Besides, an institute for imparting world-class education in Information Technology has also been set up by the Reliance Group in Gandhinagar, he said.
