HPCL-led rally lifts SENSEX on start of New Year
Mumbai: Led by oil major Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), share prices rallied at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on January 1 on the start of the new year on fresh buying, pushing up the SENSEX by 12.84 points to end at 3390.12, on news that the controversial privatisation of oil majors might be solved later this week.

'Export growth commendable, but long way to go'
New Delhi: A 29 per cent growth in imports during November 2002 took the sheen off a sustained recovery in exports, which clocked an impressive increase of 16 per cent at 4.13 billion dollars.
