Kolkata: The North East Development Council (NEDC) has in principle agreed to part
finance the Alliance Air's project of air linking the cities in the country's North
East Region.
Alliance Air, an Indian Airlines subsidiary, proposes to press into service by
December end four ATR-42-C320 aircraft, having a seating capacity for 48 persons, to
operationalise its project of air linking the North East Region, according to
official sources on December 14.
The NEDC has agreed to give Rs 35 crore for the Alliance Air's project.
The Alliance Air would have its base in Kolkata and one of the routes finalised so
far concerned Kolkata, Guwahati and Shillong, they added.
