New Delhi: India has initiated an anti-dumping investigation against imports of
butter oil from New Zealand.
In another case, the directorate general of anti-dumping and allied duties (DGAD),
under the Ministry of Commerce, which investigates such cases, has recommended
imposition of duties on all imports of Hydrofluoric acid from China.
The DGAD initiated the case against imports of Butter oil, a product used in the
adulteration of Desi Ghee, from New Zealand on basis of a petition filed by the
centre for international trade in agriculture and agro-based industries on behalf of
the domestic industry.
The case will be investigated for the period April 2001 to September 2002.
In the second case the DGAD in its final finding notification has recommended
definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of Hydrofluoric Acid of all concentrations
other than 70 per cent from China.
"The authority recommends levy of anti-dumping duty equal so as to remove the injury
caused to the domestic industry on account of dumping," it said.
The duty would be equal to the difference between the amount ranging from $ 398.8
per metric tonne and $ 871 per metric tonne and the landed value of imports.
DGAD had initiated the investigation on the basis of a petition filed by the All
India Hydrofluoric Acid manufacturers.
