Jet Airways announces 10 pc hike in airfare
Monday, November 25 2002 20:15 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Jet Airways announced a ten per cent hike in fares under its "Everyone Can Fly Scheme" in all sectors from December 1 except Kolkata-Guwahati sector.

The revision of fares has been necessitated by the steep hike in the prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) and the increase in other operational costs, Jet Airways said in a press release.

However, the fares on Kolkata-Guwahati sector under this scheme would remain unchanged, it said.

The private airlines had announced the scheme in July this year to commemorate the world's first powered flight by the Wright brothers of USA, 100 years ago. Over a thousand seats on an average have been offered daily on the airline's network across the country since August and would remain in force till March 31 this year, it said.
