Bangalore: Governor of Tokyo, Shintaro Ishihara accompanied by Defence Minister George Fernandes, visited the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bangalore.

An audio-visual presentation was made to the Governor on the overall performance, ongoing projects, the diversified facilities for manufacture, repair and overhaul of aircraft and aeroengines, helicopters and their accessories, avionics and systems, an HAL release said.

The Governor visited the diversified facilities of Jaguar Structural and final Assembly shop, and Aircraft Research and Design Centre and repair and overhaul facilities of Mirage 2000 at Overhaul division.

Ishihara also witnessed the flight demonstrations of "Dhruv", advance light helicopter. Earlier, Ishihara and Fernandes were received by HAL chairman N R Mohanty.
