Mumbai: Galileo India launched InfoRail, a product that will offer railway information through the Galileo host system. The information will mainly include passenger status enquiry, seat availability, schedules and fares, according to an official press release.

"With this product, an agent will be able to access all this information on Galileo FocalPoint itself, thereby saving the trouble of going to a Rail Reservation Center to make these enquiries," the release added.

Using a window of Galileo FocalPoint, the agent can feed in the query for the information required, and the reply is flashed back on his General Message Queue, the whole process taking less than a minute. This product does not require an Internet connection at the agency, the release said.

The product will help agents expand their business portfolio and increase their levels of customer service and satisfaction, while reducing their overhead costs. The product will be introduced in the market starting December 1.
