Hyderabad: Hyderabad has been identified as an IT destination in the country and
would soon emerge as a major IT hub in this part of the world, according to Andhra
Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking at a seminarin Hyderabad, he said that due to pro-active role played by the
state government in building the right infrastructure and deployment of manpower,
the IT industry recorded a growth rate of cent per cent for the last eight years.
The seminar, "Challenges of global marketing: A perspective for the Indian IT
software and services industry", was organsied on the occasion of opening of NASSCOM
Regional Office in Hyderabad.
Naidu said NASSCOM being a premier association of software industry at national
level could play an important role in promoting and shaping the information and
communication technology at the national level and in various states.
He said his government, which successfully launched digital administration, would
soon be "corruption free" as all transactions would be carried on in a transparent
way and there was absolutely no scope for any underhand business.
Naidu said the Microsoft president, Bill Gates who will be on a visit to India next
week, preferred to stay a full day on November 14 in the state capital acquainting
himself with the progress being made in the IT sector, interacting with the captains
of IT industry and a visit to Satyam Computers.
