Bangalore: United Breweries Limited would launch a two-seater car "Kingfisher Storm" with a price tag of Rs 5.5 lakh on road, its chairman Vijay Mallya said on September 30.

Addressing the company's annual general meeting, he said that the "leisure car" is primarily targetted at youths and housewives and those going in for their second or third car.

"Kingfisher Storm will reinforce Kingfisher's brand equity and value," he said.

Shareholders gave their nod for investment of up to Rs 5 crore in city-based San Motors Limited in this regard.

Company sources said the 2,200-cc car would have fibre-glass body.
