Bangalore: Iomega Corporation, a global leader in reliable, portable data storage, on September 24 announced its latest internal CD-RW drive to date, the 48x24x48 internal CD-RW drive, which boasts higher performance with major speed breakthroughs for both recording and rewriting, according to a press release.

With a 48x record and 24x rewrite speed, the internal CD-RW drive is one of the fastest in the market today, especially for rewriting. The drive offers excellent digital audio extraction (DAE) speed with buffer UnderRun protection, eliminating the risk of wasted CD media. It also comes with industry leading software required to easily and quickly burn CDs, the release said.

'Iomega’s new 48x24x48 internal CD-RW drive is a high performance drive that delivers the kind of speed and reliability that users want for more effective CD- related storage," said Richard Lim, regional director, Iomega Asia Pacific.

This software provides fast DAE speed, which allows users to record a 60-minute CD in less than three minutes, and buffer UnderRun protection that prevents the inadvertent destruction of blank CDs during CD-R sessions. This happens when the host computer cannot maintain a steady stream of data to the drive and typically renders the disk useless.

Easy to use InCD packet writing software allows the use of the CD-RW drive as a floppy disk, the release said.

The 48x24x48 internal CD-RW drive assures one year limited warranty, the release added.
