Bangalore: Tata Infotech Education plans to set up 100 education centres providing
career and professional courses, in India, and 20 abroad, including in Korea and
China, in the current financial year, a top executive of the company said on
September 18.
These 100 centres would be primarily set up in small towns, the company's head,
education services division, Rahul Thapan, told reporters.
At present, the company has 300 centres in India and 15 abroad. For overseas
expansion, it is looking at countries such as Venezuela, Mexico, Kenya, Zambia,
Korea and China for setting up these centres, he added.
Tata Infotech Education is the education services division of Tata Infotech Limited,
a part of the $ 9 billion Tata Group. The division contributes eight to nine per
cent to Tata Infotech's revenue, Thapan said.
Tata Infotech Education, meanwhile, on September 18 launched "Contact Center
SolutionSets", an e-learning solution for call centres, in alliance with SkillSoft
(formerly SmartForce), a leading provider of e-learning courseware and referenceware
for business and IT professionals.
