Infosys, BEA Systems launch competency lab

Bangalore: BEA Systems and Infosys Technologies Ltd, on August 13 jointly announced the launch of BEA's competency lab at Infosys City. BEA's Competency Lab will showcase BEA's award winning Weblogic platform products, market-leading tools and professional services, an official press release said.

According to the release, 150 Infosys engineers and departmental heads attended and the theme for the BEA 'tech day' was "BEA Application Infrastructure: The Definite WebServices/ Java Platform" - a favourite topic among the developer community. In addition, several hundred Infosys employees participated virtually from Infosys centres across the world via webcast.

Inaugurating the Lab, Michael F Smith, Jr, principal technologist, BEA Systems, Inc, said, "The BEA competency lab is the first of its kind for BEA in India and we plan to open another 10 similar competency centres with our leading partners here."

"The BEA Competency Lab would help Infosys train its employees on BEA products and help them keep abreast of important technological changes in this area. Consequently, the BEA competency lab would allow Infosys to provide leading edge technology solutions to its customers using the latest products from BEA," Shibulal, founder director and head, delivery systems, Infosys Technologies, said.
