Bangalore: The second international trade fair on construction technologies and
construction equipment "EXCON 2002" would be held in Bangalore from December 16 to
19.
An announcement to this effect was made by the organisers, the Confederation of
Indian Industry (CII) at a press conference on July 17.
Karnataka is the partner state in the four-day bi-annual exhibition, which would
have 150-plus exhibitors, chairman of EXCON 2002, Sarosh J Ghandy, said. The event
is supported by the Union Ministries of Surface Transport and Heavy Industries.
"The event will be 50 per cent larger than the last edition. We are expecting 150
participants," he said. "There will be strong participation by construction
majors."
There will be a technical seminar on infrastructure construction systems and
technologies and live equipment demonstrations, it was stated. Buying delegations
are expected to come from countries of the regional grouping, South Asian
Association for Regional Co-operation.
According to CII, EXCON 2002 has been conceived as a forum for manufacturers and
user communities in the construction equipment industry to come together to
facilitate the infrastructure growth in the country.
Focusing on construction industry and construction projects, it would showcase the
latest equipment and techniques for the construction industry, it said.
