Bangalore: The second international trade fair on construction technologies and construction equipment "EXCON 2002" would be held in Bangalore from December 16 to 19.

An announcement to this effect was made by the organisers, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at a press conference on July 17.

Karnataka is the partner state in the four-day bi-annual exhibition, which would have 150-plus exhibitors, chairman of EXCON 2002, Sarosh J Ghandy, said. The event is supported by the Union Ministries of Surface Transport and Heavy Industries.

"The event will be 50 per cent larger than the last edition. We are expecting 150 participants," he said. "There will be strong participation by construction majors."

There will be a technical seminar on infrastructure construction systems and technologies and live equipment demonstrations, it was stated. Buying delegations are expected to come from countries of the regional grouping, South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation.

According to CII, EXCON 2002 has been conceived as a forum for manufacturers and user communities in the construction equipment industry to come together to facilitate the infrastructure growth in the country.

Focusing on construction industry and construction projects, it would showcase the latest equipment and techniques for the construction industry, it said.
