P&G ties up with Altair to rejuvenate packaging process

Bangalore: Procter & Gamble, in partnership with Altair Engineering, has rejuvenated P&G's packaging analysis process through new strides in automation, according to an official press release.

Prior to this effort, P&G had an automated package analysis system, that was quite rigid and required all geometry to be built internally to a single CAD system, the release said.

Using Altair's HyperWorks CAE product suite, HKS ABAQUS and proprietary software, a customised interface was developed to automate the analysis of bottle geometry.

The automated solution resulted in significant productivity gains while improving repeatability and reliability of the analysis, the release added.
