New Delhi: Finance Minister Jaswant Singh on July 10 ruled out any interim budget to
provide tax sops, but promised a "re-look" at the recent ordinance to deal with non-
performing assets (NPA), saying government's intention was
not "expropriatory".
"No, there will be no interim budget," Singh told reporters, setting at rest
speculation that government might come out with tax sops in view of improved revenue
collections and his utterances that he would put more money in the pockets of
citizens.
