New Delhi: Reserve Bank of India governor Bimal Jalan, who is to complete his five- year term in November, has been given a two-year extension.

A notification issued on July 10 by the Economic Affairs Department said that Jalan has been reappointed as Governor for a further period of two years from November 22 2002.
