Bangalore: Jubilant Organosys Limited (formerly Vam Organic Chemicals Limited), announced on July 8 that its manufacturing plant located at Nira, near Pune, has been awarded ISO 14001 certification for manufacture and supply of a complete range of products produced at the plant. After Jubilant's plant at Gajraula, the Nira plant is the only other ‘distillery’ granted ISO 14001 certification in India so far.

Jubilant Organosys has invested over Rs. 6.5 crores in upgrading the plant for pollution abatement during the last couple of years, according to an official press release.

"ISO 14001 certification for our Nira Plant after the similar certification for our Gajraula plant, is indicative of the management’s commitment to implement, maintain and improve our environmental management system (EMS) in line with international standards," Jubilant Organosys Limited executive director S N Singh said.

“In tune with its vision of caring, sharing, growing - Jubilant Organosys is committed to improve the environmental performance in and around the manufacturing plants. ISO14001 certification is the first step in this direction and our aim is to become a zero effluent discharge factory," he added.
