Kinetic BOSS rated 'value for money' bike in test
Tuesday, July 9 2002 13:10 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Kinetic BOSS has been rated as the best "value for money" motorcycle in India in a 1200 km detailed road test. Kinetic's 100 CC four-stroke bike was among the six bikes selected for the road test, according to an official press release.

Each manufacturer selected the six bikes for the road test. TVS Victor, Kinetic Boss, Bajaj Auto Boxer, Hero Honda Dawn, Yamaha Crux and LML Energy FX were selected for the test ride, the release said.

The test rides were conducted by Dilip Bam, a renowned automobile expert and his team of six riders, on a path from Pune to the Lonar Crater in Maharashtra, covering a distance of 1,200 km, the press release said.

The tests took into account the sale price of the vehicle and its fuel consumption figures. Based on these and an approximation of usage patterns, a complex five-year ownership cost was calculated. The total cost of Kinetic Boss came out to be the lowest of all six bikes at Rs 71,405/- only, much less than the others (TVS Victor at Rs 88,118 and Hero Honda Dawn Rs 83,426), the release added.
