Chennai's Man Machine launches new Java-based tool
Thursday, July 4 2002 15:33 Hrs (IST)

Chennai: The Chennai-based Man Machine Systems has come out with 'Jsyntest', a Java- based tool for Syntax-based testing.

Syntax testing is also called grammar-based testing of software programmes and the new product could be run on a variety of platforms, K Rangarajan, CEO of the company, told reporters while launching the product on July 4.

He said that the grammar formalism in 'Jsyntest' was quite expressive, with support for inheritance and composition across grammars.

The 13-year-old company expects to sell at least 50 licences of the new product across the globe during the current year. The product is priced at $ 595.

Referring to the market potential for the new product, he said the concept of Syntax- based testing was not very popular and added that the company planned to embark on an awareness campaign across the globe to market the product.

The company, which has its focus mainly on product development and offshore project execution for overseas clients, had invested around Rs 6 lakh for developing the new product.

Overseas clients included British Aerospace, IBM, Nokia, Oracle, Siemens and Nippon Steel Corporation.
