Bangalore: Kinetic Motor Company Limited, on June 21, launched a new scooter called Kinetic 'Zing' in Bangalore. This trendy zippy scooter is targeted at the modern day youth and is the most important product launch in this segment.

"We are very happy to be bringing Zing into the market. Kinetic is the market leader in the category of modern scooters and Zing is a very important addition to our portfolio," Kinetic Motor Company joint managing director Sulajja Firodia Motwani told reporters at the launch of the scooter on June 21. "I am confident that Zing will be seen as the ideal transport solution in Indian urban areas, especially amongst the style and value conscious college population,"

Zing carries the trademark of all kinetic scooters, which stand for "style and convenience". It has the latest global design and an advanced new engine.

This "youth bike" has been given a fresh new styling, attractive colours and thoughtful ergonomics. Zing features a 65cc engine and is a highly fuel-efficient scooter with a mileage of over 60 KMPL on the road, it has a front glove box and an ample under-seat storage space capable of holding one helmet.

Kinetic has developed Zing with an investment of Rs 20 crore. The scooter is priced at Rs 22,999, offering cost advantage over its other competitors.

Zing is the result of meeting 1,000 students in six different states to find out what the students thought was lacking in their scooters. All of them said that there should be more power, storage space, room to sit, more mileage and above all should be more stylish and sold at affordable prices.

"We feel that Zing is a winner because it is a result of intense research. It is an ideal college bike created by the students itself," Motwani added.

Bangalore was the second city to launch Kinetic Zing, the first being Ahmedabad. According to Motwani an "untapped market exists" in Bangalore. Kinetic hopes to sell around 4,000 Zings in Bangalore this year.
