New pact to improve cable traffic throughput
Wednesday, June 19 2002 17:44 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Alopa Networks, a leading provider of self-subscriber provisioning and advanced broadband Operational Support Systems (OSS) solutions, has announced a new co-marketing agreement with the US-based Scientific-Atlanta.

The agreement, a company release claimed in Bangalore on June 19, would enable cable operators to "quickly and confidently" deploy Scientific-Atlanta's Prisma (R) G10 CMTS and WebSTAR cable modems, with advanced "mission critical" management and control capabilities provided by Alopa MetaServ OSS.

"The coupling of Scientific-Atlanta's advanced data hardware and Alopa's advanced OSS software is designed to allow cable operators to quickly generate new revenue streams, minimise capital and operating expenses, and deliver excellent customer service", the release claimed.

"This complete data network solution enables cable systems to improve traffic throughput," it said.
