Kochi: R P Gupta, managing director and chief executive officer of the Lord Krishna
Bank (LKB), has resigned on June 15, bank sources said.
Gupta had put in his papers on June 11 citing ill health, the sources said adding he
had been hospitalised last week and had been advised complete bed rest by his
doctors.
The bank was in the news recently as it was one of the four banks in Kerala through
which Rs 336 crores had been transacted from Mumbai to Kerala. Income tax department
is investigating the source of the money.
Top banking sources said the three-member committee set up by the bank to
investigate the alleged illegal transaction, had not completed its probe and
investigations conducted so far had not revealed any wrong doing.
